What a race! Dallas Seavey won 2:20 ahead of Aliy Zirkle,
claiming his second title in three years. Aliy finishes 2nd for the
third time. Mitch Seavey, last year’s champion, a three-time winner, finshed 3rd.
As Dallas was franytically coming down Front Street, hw was
constantly looking over his shoulder. He said later he was afraid that his dad
would catch him for 3rd place! When he realized the fuss was about
him, he asked, “Where are Jeff and Aliy?” They then informed him that he was
the winner!
Last year’s top Rookie, the Norwegian Joar Leifseth Ulsom,
finished in 4th place.
Sonny Lindner rounded out the top five finishers.
Martin Buser, Jesse Royer, Ray Redington Jr., Hans Gatt, and
Aaron Burmeister fill out the top ten.
Nathan Schroeder takes home Rookie of the Year honors, just
beating Abbie West.
