Iditarod Update - Thursday March 19

Nome is a busy place, as the teams keep coming in. The top twenty have already finished.

Reports of severe weather on the bay has forced some teams to hunker down before reaching Koyuk, with numerous others stopped in Shaktoolik.

Thomas Waerner wins the Rookie of the Year award over Jason Campeau by an hour and twenty minutes.

The back of the pack have all made it to the coast, with the exception of Cindy Abbott, who is on her way to Unalakleet.

With long-time racer Jim Lanier scratching, ten teams are out of the race.

Iditarod Update - We have a winner!

We have a winner!!!!!

Dallas Seavey has won the 2015 Iditarod in 8 days, 18 hours, 13 minutes and 6 seconds. It is his 2^nd win in a row, and his third in four years – only interrupted by his father, Mitch, who won in 2013. Mitch finished this year in 2^nd place, almost 4 hours behind his son. Aaron Burmeister is in Nome, for a 3^rd place finish, his best yet.

Jessie Royer has a sizable lead over Aliy Zirkle, for 4^th and 5^th places respectively.

Joar Leifseth Ulsom, Jeff King, Wade Marrs and Ken Anderson are on their way to Nome, with Nicolas Petit set to leave in 10^th position.

Jason Campeau is out of Elim with an hour and a half lead over Thomas Waerner in the Rookie of the Year race.

The back of the pack are all heading to the coast, with the exception of Cindy Abbott, who is on her way to Kaltag.

Iditarod Update - Tuesday March 17

Dallas Seavey in the driver’s seat for winning his third Iditarod in four years – only interrupted by his father, Mitch, winning in 2013.

Dallas is approaching White Mountain, where all teams must take a mandatory 8 hour rest before the final 88 miles to Nome. His lead over his father Mitch, Aaron Burmeister, Jessie Royer, and Aliy Zirkle appears unstoppable. Stranger things have happened, however, as the weather on the coast is never certain.

Jason Campeau appears to have a lock on Rookie of the Year.

The back of the pack are all out of Huslia.
